We really enjoyed our time in Dairy Cottage; very comfortable and cosy. Great walks from the door inculding Barnard Castle (4 miles along the Tees) or just an amble to Romaldkirk to try out one of the pubs!
Lovely, relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings. Cosy cottage with open log fire was a real gem. A thoroughly enjoyable weekend in this welcoming friendly atmosphere.
A fantastic holiday in a stunning area with great walks from the doorstep. Dairy Cottage was beutiful; we realy didn’t want to leave. Many thanks to Debbie and Ted for a very warm welcome. Can’t wait to come back!
Very peaceful comfortable cottage in lovely surroundings. Ted and Debbie could not be kinder or more helpful. The fishing on the river is not easy but very wild and satisfying. You need a wading staff and roll casting skills. The trout are delicious, though. Saw
otter, deer, crayfish, masses of bird life. Lots of hiking and cycling nearby. Barnard Castle a quirky, pretty and old-fashioned town. I would definitely return.
Our family have just spent a very comfortable week in Dairy cottage. There was something for everyone and Debbie and Ted provided a lovely welcome and free rang eggs! We can recommend riding at nearby Raygill Riding Stables and the walks along the Tees in both directions which we did everyday. We also walked in Balderdale, wild and beautiful. We would love to return. Thank you
We have just had a wonderful week at Wodencroft Cottage, our first experience of this part of Teesdale. The cottage was immaculately kept, and very comfortable. We very much appreciated the welcome and helpfulness of the property managers, Debbie and Ted, and – like others – we can vouch for the delicious free range eggs. We enjoyed the mile or so walks in to Cotherstone in one direction and the lovely village of Romaldkirk in the other. It was good to be so near to a river so interesting as this stretch of the Tees.
